It is only when I keep my own energy in a high vibration that I am able to serve my clients in the best way possible. My website is my outlet, so I am inviting you to keep me accountable to a steps challenge.
You also know that I have a “no holds barred” attitude in sharing my personal experiences with the intention to inspire and encourage others to live their best life.

I have met many wonderful friends through my entrepreneurial Story Athlete community. Since April 2020, I have learned so much being in the company of like-minded souls who are also on the path of becoming our own heroic self.

One of those great friends is Joe Tedesco who lives in Texas USA. We’ve have been friends inside and outside of Story Athlete for a couple years, cheering each other on in our business and personal goals. In SA, we encourage “calling shots” to publicly be held accountable to our goals.

On March 12 2023, Joe mentioned that he signed up for a 50K marathon in October 2023 and will be training for that by aiming for 10k per day.
I offered to support him in keeping up with half of his target daily steps, which means 5k per day for me, or 6300 steps.

Joe: I signed up for a 50k (32.5 mile run) in October. I will cross that damn finish line!!
Jackie: I’m aiming 5 k per day right now, dancing, cuz that gets me back into Jackie’s corner on the dance floor mode
Joe: I’m shooting for 10k a day
Jackie: Calling shot? I’ll do my best to keep up with half of what you’re doing 😎😬😍
Joe: I’ll send you my daily step count to remind you… how about that?
Jackie: I committed to half, 5k. You’re committed to 10k. IMO as long as you’re ahead of me, you’re good

As of March 26 2023, I have not kept up every single day but I have made some good effort on other days. Now I am making more of a public “calling my shot” to keep me more accountable. After time in global isolation and working through energetic imbalances, it is time to let go of the past and reinvent myself.
Time to put more effort into walking, dancing, and hiking and getting steps in each day.

I have figured out how to set up playlists on YouTube with dance, electronica and other fave music, so others can follow along with my music choices. Heavy, Hard, and a Good Rhythm! I love drums, bass, and a good beat!

I have also set up a Facebook album to post my steps records. May be posted daily or weekly:

Some background on my weight journey:
I had been quite active early in life, purchasing a 10 speed bike with babysitting money when I was a teenager. As a teen mom, I still biked the 9 km to high school, even at 9 months pregnant.
I walked everywhere as a young mom since I didn’t get a driver’s license until age 23. I often say that running after 4 kids kept me pretty active and fit back in those days. I was always a skinny mini with a flat tummy.
During party days with my sister, I was always the Designated Driver, partying on air and water and just getting everyone on the dance floor. Dancing is a great way to keep in shape! I was 115 lbs for many, many years.
Quite often, I also “walked the bridges” in our home town, about an hour long, 6 km trek across the two main bridges.
I hiked Mount Robson 3 times from 2013 to 2015, that is a 23 km trek.

Unfortunately, life caught up to me close to age 40 with an exhausting day job as a mail carrier, a nasty divorce, and an ulcer. I started putting on over 80 lbs of excess weight. I do think some of this weight may be due to chemical toxins I didn’t realize were in a favorite cappuccino drink I had enjoyed for 10 years. My weight has fluctuated, but as of January 2022, I ballooned to 219 lbs. My ideal weight is about 135 lbs.

Around 2008, I had gotten into energy healing and changed my life for the better in ways I could not even comprehend. Over time, I learned how all the emotional, sexual, mental, and some physical abuse I had endured throughout my life had impacted my physical body in putting on excess weight as a form of energetic protection. Throughout my time as an energy healer, I have worked extensively on myself and also enlisted the assistance of other practitioners.

All those years of being skinny mini, I never understood the weight issues that other people seemed to have. Now I understand more than I care to, actually. I have tried Keto, intermittent fasting, Medical Medium cleanse, bone broth regimen, Ayurvedic cleanses, and many other programs and diets which honestly were not sustainable. Yes, each of these “diet” ideas have their place and may work long term for some people.
To be honest, I love food. I love BBQ steak, seafood, and all the trimmings. Life is too short to not enjoy these guilty pleasures and tantalizing my tastebuds regularly. I refuse to give up my food pleasures, but I have developed more of a healthy awareness in my food choices. I have been known to enjoy bone broth with a chocolate bar. It’s all about balance you know lol.

2023: I have been following Jon Gabriel and incorporating some of his ideas, audio meditations, and food ideas. He suggests that rather than dieting and taking away favorite foods, that you add in more live foods over time.
He promotes that each meal should have protein, fatty acids, omega 3s, and live food (raw).

In Story Athlete, there is a monthly challenge called GRIT. The concept there is to do a targeted workout per day to get the endorphins going, then do a writing concept and make sure to post to the private group each day. Accountability and integrity and cheering on your team. All my daily GRIT writings are in this website. You may notice that I have not participated in every GRIT challenge since 2020. Through the months that I did participate, I did not put enough effort into the daily workouts staying just at the first level most of the time.

I have been taking more of a targeted approach to the emotional and energetic component of my weight as medical tests have come back showing no specific reason for this excess weight.

I am taking on a steps challenge and trusting that an added bonus may be shedding some of this excess weight. The real aim is to just be more toned and strengthened overall. As we say in SA GRIT, “harder to kill”.

March 30 2023: New Dancin’ Boots
I just have to show off my new dancing boots to go with my steps challenge. My eldest daughter, Chantelle, is manager at Walk Rite Shoes here in Prince George BC Canada. They just got these Laura Vita Rose boots in, and I splurged on myself. *squeals with glee*. Had to get a pic trying them on so I can share with you. Find these and many more exceptional brands at their online store.
(yes this is a form of investing in myself 🙂
