Misplaced Trust

It hangs like a heavy curtain
Over the love that’s in your heart,
And you wish that he could hold you
And never would you part.

You want him desperately to love you
But what he did before
Makes it almost impossible
For you to love him anymore.

You start to see him differently,
Since he misplaced your trust,
So you carefully guard your heart
So it doesn’t crumble away to dust.

You keep thinking that you hate him
But in your heart that’s not true,
And it’s the thought that you love him,
That’s making you so blue.

You don’t know what to do about it,
You don’t know where to go.
So do you trust him again?
You decide the answer is no.
